Nenos Yousef
Nenos Yousef He was born in Mosul, Iraq, and studied music at the Institute of Fine Arts, Department of Music, and studied the Oud. In 2005, he moved to Damascus, Syria, and also worked as a oud player in the Roman Catholic choir at monastery Ibrahim Al-Khalil, and worked with several musicians in Damascus. In Syria, he established a musical group and released an album entitled Solo. He also made a work on the story of Patriarch Mar Benjamin and released a CD with this work as well.
In 2009 he moved to Sweden and also studied at Sommenbygdens folk high school and Got a diploma on in world music and jazz. He established a trio titled Le trio Baghdad, and they performed several shows in Sweden and participated in a festival and released a CD entitled Flowers. He worked with many Swedish musicians and attended workshops with the musician and key harp players Niklas Roswall.
Nenos held workshops on oriental music at a Umefolk festival and Nörrköpings folks music festival in Sweden. Nenos founded the Oriental Jazz Band with other Swedish musicians as well. Nenos presented a musical evening, a mixture of oriental music and Swedish folk music, with the Swedish clarinetist Prof Dan Lundberg.
